Hard to believe it’s almost the end of the year! ‘Tis the season to be merry and bright! While we have been scrambling to check things off of our holiday to-do list, we can’t help but pause to swoon over the beautiful seasonal decorations and festive wreaths out there. In true Rock Paper Streamers style, we wanted to transform the traditional hanging wreath, into a playful, multipurpose tabletop version.
We wanted to keep our wreath simple and festive with a nod to the traditional Christmas colors. We used our version as a menu board for an upcoming holiday dessert party!
Here’s how you can craft one yourself…
- Metallic charger plate
- Metallic decorative garland, at least 3′ in length
- Christmas sprays
- Hot glue gun
- Printed menu in a circle, sized to fit
Using your hot glue gun, attach the garland to the outer edge of the charger plate.
Cut and pick elements of the Christmas sprays and play around with the design and placement. Using your glue gun, attach the pieces to the metallic garland, as per your design. Make sure to cover any visible joints.
Instead of the traditional bow at the top of the wreath, we opted for a cluster of red berries and pine cones. Print and cut your menu in a circle that will fit on the inside of the charger plate. Using double-sided tape, affix the menu card to the charger plate.
You can also use this as a tray for candles clustered together for a table setting. Add a cute doily and it can also double as a serving piece. Even your biggest pinterest-fail cookies would look amazing on this platter!
We can’t wait to hang out with our girlfriends, at the drink and dessert party! We hope you have a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.
We’d love to see your version of the holiday menu board at #rockpaperstreamers.
