We were asked to host a Garden Brunch party for a group of girlfriends! The weather here in San Diego was the perfect excuse to take the party outdoors. Fun cocktails, finger foods and good gossip is already the perfect combination for a great party. However, we believe no tablescape is complete without an element of whimsy and decided to make this fun wreath. This is a simple and a quick DIY project that would be a perfect craft to do with your kids.
- Artificial greenery stems and a few accent floral pieces
- Scissors or wire cutters
- Fine gauge floral wire
- Glue gun
- Metal macrame ring (we found a perfect gold one at Joann’s)
Let’s get started!
Cut a few small pieces of the greenery…enough to overlap at a few places and cover the metal ring. Secure the pieces of greenery to the ring with the floral wire. Repeat the step above as many times as necessary to hold the greenery in place.
Once you are happy with your placements, go ahead and hot glue the greenery to the ring at different places. We also made sure to hot glue any loose leaves in places as needed to get the finished look we were going for.
Decide the placement of your floral accent pieces. Use this opportunity to cover any visible floral wire or glue.
The last step is to totally make it your own! We chose to string these fun garden tool charms across the wreath. This was the perfect addition to our garden party decor! This wreath is so versatile that it could be customized for any party setting. or season.
We’d love to see your versions of this project. Be sure to take photos and use #rockpaperstreamers.
